Earlier, Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar had remarked that the party leaders have made enough money in the name of the Gandhis.

A day after Karnataka Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar claimed that Congress leaders have made enough money in the name of Gandhis, party chief DK Shivakumar said Kumar’s statement was “misunderstood and misinterpreted”.

On Thursday, Ramesh Kumar said, “We have made enough money for 3-4 generations in the name of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. If we can’t sacrifice this much, it won’t be good for us.” Kumar was speaking at a Congress protest condemning the ED case against Sonia Gandhi.

DK Shivakumar said Ramesh meant that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would have become prime ministers but they made sacrifices.

SONIA GANDHI QUESTIONED BY ED

Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Thursday. The probe relates to alleged financial irregularities in the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.

Karnataka Congress leaders and workers led by former chief minister Siddaramaiah and state president DK Shivakumar took out a rally in support of Sonia Gandhi.
