To ensure bus lane enforcement across the national capital, Delhi Transport minister Kailash Gahlot on Tuesday said that a mock bus lane with bus stops will be created for training drivers and conductors.
Yesterday, Kailash Gahlot inspected bus lane enforcement on the Vasant Vihar to INA stretch and directed officials to clear bus lanes around major points at IIT Gate, Munirka, Yusuf Sarai, AIIMS on the route. “Private vehicles block bus lanes near AIIMS which have been cleared for easy movement,” he tweeted.
Gahlot also tweeted that he had convened a meeting with transport department officials, DTC, Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), and Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DTIDC) to prepare an action plan for phase-II including bus driver and conductor training and corrective behaviour at its root, through a comprehensive system based on diagnosis, rewards and incentives.
