In an unexpected health scare, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar briefly lost consciousness during a public event in Uttarakhand’s Nainital on Wednesday. The incident occurred during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Kumaon University, where the Vice President was the chief guest.
An Emotional Moment Turns Alarming
Moments after delivering his address at the university, Vice President Dhankhar stepped down from the dais and walked toward Mahendra Singh Pal, a former Lok Sabha MP and longtime parliamentary colleague. The two shared a warm embrace, rekindling memories of their time in Parliament in 1989.
However, the emotional reunion took a worrying turn as Dhankhar suddenly collapsed into Pal’s arms. Alerted by the suddenness of the fall, his medical team acted swiftly, reviving him within moments.
Condition Stable, Schedule to Continue
According to officials, the Vice President regained consciousness quickly and was deemed medically stable. He was immediately escorted to Raj Bhavan, where he is staying during his three-day visit to Nainital.
A statement from the Vice President’s office confirmed there is no major cause for concern, and Dhankhar is expected to continue with his scheduled engagements.
