Mahan Dal chief Keshav Dev Maurya has accused Om Prakash Rajbhar of snooping on the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Amid a war of words between Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and senior leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, Mahan Dal chief Keshav Dev Maurya accused Rajbhar of snooping for the BJP.

Mahan Dal was in alliance with the Samajwadi Party along with Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh.

Maurya claimed that both Om Prakash Rajbhar and Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP and joined the SP before the state elections, were working at the behest of the BJP.

I had opposed Rajbhar’s alliance with the Samajwadi Party as neither Rajbhar nor his supporters could bring even 1,000 votes with them. The SP lost the elections due to Swami Prasad Maurya and Rajbhar,” he said.

Akhilesh Yadav took potshots at Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday, saying the spirit of “some other party” has entered into the body of his former ally and needed to be exorcised.

He said the SP or any SP-led alliance never faced any allegation of graft in the allocation of tickets till it entered into a coalition with Rajbhar’s outfit. The SP had formed an alliance with Rajbhar’s SBSS party ahead of the Assembly polls.

The SP-SBSP alliance ended recently after Rajbhar supported Droupadi Murmu, who defeated Yashwant Sinha, the Opposition nominee backed by the SP in the presidential polls.
