Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with UN Secretary General António Guterres regarding the death of two Indian peacekeepers in Congo. PM Modi urged quick investigations into the matter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) regarding the death of two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Congo. PM Modi urged the UN chief for quick investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.

According to international media, at least five people were killed and about 50 others injured on the second day of demonstrations in Congo’s eastern city of Goma against the United Nations mission in the country.

Officials said two platoons or around 70-74 BSF troops were deployed in the area and they were inducted in May this year.
