With the widespread wings of COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has called for ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday, March 22 from 7 AM to 9 PM.
PM also announced the creation of ‘COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force’ under the Union Finance Minister. Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister of India will meet the Ministers for Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Civil Aviation, MSMEs and Tourism to take feedback and assess the impact of COVID-19
PM has asked businesses and high net worth individual not to cut salary of their employees.
Stressing on resolve and restraint, while asking the citizens to follow ‘Janata Curfew’ from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday, he said, “Our experience of Janata Curfew will help us chart the way ahead for tackling coronavirus in India”.
In a televised address to the nation, he further added that no one apart from those involved with essential services such as health, government services, sanitation and media, are supposed to venture out of home.
He also assured that there will be no shortage of any necessary goods during the curfew.
