Tata AIG General Insurance Company has won the Silver Award in the category of ‘Skoch Blue Economy Award 2016’ of the Skoch Sustainability awards 2016. Tata AIG General Insurance received the award for its work in the Kuran village, which was a transformation initiative of turning a remote tribal village into a model village. Tata AIG along with Centre for Micro Finance and a couple of other NGOs have adopted the Kuran village of Rajasthan and are working to create a sustainable ecosystem for all by providing solutions at grassroot level. They are working with the community to provide immunization, improve nutrition, sanitation, education, water conservation, irrigation & cultivation for villagers. These initiatives in turn would lead to improvement in their financial and social conditions. The project has also been recognized as among the Top 100 Sustainability projects in India.

This is the second award we have won for this project, which reinforces our commitment to work on it. Going forward it will encourage more corporate like ours to come forward in shaping such villages and turning them into self-sufficient model villages.”
