What EC said on UP Election; ‘Cap on rallies amid Omicron, more voting time’

The battle for Uttar Pradesh is on track. Poll panel says parties want UP election on time with COVID-19 protocol. Citing a request by ‘all political parties’, the EC stated that the high-stakes election won’t be deferred due to COVID-19. Due to the Omicron threat, the number of rallies and rally attendees will be capped. Vote timings extended by one hour, now 8AM-6PM.
