Who will win if Lok Sabha polls were held today? survey finds out

The January edition of the Mood of the Nation poll found that the NDA government has managed to weather the economic crisis as well as the China threat, as 67 per cent of respondents were ‘satisfied’ with the current government’s performance.

With little over a year left for the Lok Sabha elections, the people in India seem to be satisfied with the performance of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, the spo india-CVoter Mood of the Nation poll found. The survey revealed that if the Lok Sabha elections are held today, the Bharatiya Janata Party is projected to win 284 seats.

Meanwhile, the Congress is projected to win 191 seats if elections are to be held today, the survey found.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity remains undented. The survey found that 72 per cent of the respondents were satisfied with the prime minister’s performance.

67% PEOPLE SATISFIED WITH NDA

The Narendra Modi-led NDA government has managed to beat anti-incumbency, despite inflation, the Covid-19 pandemic, and external threats from China plaguing it over the past three years, according to the January edition of the Mood of the Nation poll.

After nine years in power, 67 per cent of the respondents said the performance was satisfactory in January 2023. The numbers have gone up 11 per cent from August 2022.

 

The survey was conducted by India Today in association with C-Voter to gauge the nation’s mood. A total of 1,40,917 respondents were considered for this survey.

From 37 per cent in August 2022 to 18 per cent now, the survey noticed a dip in people ‘dissatisfied’ with the NDA government.

The survey revealed that 20 per cent of the respondents believed the NDA’s biggest achievement was the handling of Covid-19 pandemic, while 14 per cent thought it was the revocation of Article 370. Meanwhile, 12 per cent of those surveyed believed that the building of Ram Mandir was the biggest achievement of the present government.

NDA’S BIGGEST FAILURES

Asked what the NDA government’s biggest failure was, 25 per cent of the respondents said it was price rise, while 17 per cent believed it was the failure to tackle unemployment.

 

Eight per cent of respondents said the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic was the NDA government’s biggest failure.
