Security beefed up across UP ahead of Friday namaz

Ahead of Friday prayers, security has been beefed up in several districts of UP. Apart from heavy police deployment, drone surveillance will be used to keep a watch on sensitive areas.

Along with the heavy police force deployment, CCTV cameras and drones will be used to monitor all the activities.

As many as 132 companies of PAC, 10 companies of CAPF have been deployed in 24 sensitive districts of the state.

Kanpur, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Agra, Hathras, Aligarh were listed in the sensitive districts where security arrangements have been enhanced. The UP government has put a ban on writing any religiously objectionable post on social media. Security of every district will be monitored from DGP headquarters

SECURITY IN KANPUR

Kanpur Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena held a meeting with the officers and station in-charges in the Police Line Auditorium on Thursday, directing everyone to make it clear that there should be no mistake at any level.

It was discussed in the meeting that as many as eight drone cameras would monitor the situation round the clock. At least 50 videographers will do video recording from place to place and all major intersections are equipped with PTZ cameras. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) will also be deployed.

Apart from these, there will be a public address system at major intersections and important places. Water cannon and fire tenders will be available at major places.

Along with the nine companies of PAC, at least 4,000 policemen will be deployed. Seven SP, six ASP, 14 DSP, 74 inspectors, 306 sub inspectors have been asked by Commissioner Vijay Singh to perform their duties. The Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and policemen in plain clothes will surveillance across the city.

SECURITY IN PRAYAGRAJ

After Prayagraj witnessed violent protests last week post Friday namaz, the administration has tightened the security across the city. Apart from police, PAC and RAF deployment, 300 additional CCTV cameras and 4 drones will be used for surveillance.

The district magistrate and SSP have made an appeal to the religious leaders to offer prayers peacefully and have asked people to go to their homes after offering namaz. The administration will also keep an eye on social media posts.

SECURITY IN LUCKNOW

The Lucknow administration has beefed up security at Lucknow’s Teele Wali Masjid ahead of Friday prayers. Police forces will be deployed in and around the areas of the mosque after a crowd gathered last Friday at Teele Wali Masjid and allegedly raised slogans ‘Allah Hu Akbar’. The incident raised the eyebrows of the Lucknow district administration, prompting them to deploy heavy security forces ahead of Friday prayers.

The district administration will use drone surveillance to keep a watch on sensitive areas and places surrounding the mosques to prevent any untoward incident tomorrow. The police officials will also carry out a flag march for patrolling in such areas.
