The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a key update regarding Rishabh Pant’s condition after the star wicketkeeper-batter suffered a painful injury on Day 1 of the fourth Test between India and England at Old Trafford, Manchester.

India, having lost the toss, were asked to bat first in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy clash that began on July 23. The impact left Pant in visible pain, with reports of swelling and bleeding. He had to be stretchered off the field, raising concerns among fans and cricketing circles alike.

Later in the evening, BCCI released a statement via social media, confirming that Pant had been taken for scans and was under medical observation.
