The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved a landmark ₹8,585.51 crore greenfield expressway that will directly connect Noida International Airport at Jewar with the Ganga Expressway, significantly boosting regional connectivity. The 74.5-km access-controlled corridor, passing through Bulandshahr, is expected to become a strategic transport artery linking western and central Uttar Pradesh with the state's biggest upcoming aviation hub. Designed as a six-lane expressway with future expansion to eight lanes, the project is being fully funded by the Uttar Pradesh government and is expected to accelerate economic growth, logistics and infrastructure development across the region.
Jewar Airport: India's Next Major Aviation Gateway
Noida International Airport at Jewar, located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, is one of India's most ambitious greenfield airport projects. Conceived to ease pressure on Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, it is expected to emerge as one of Asia's largest aviation hubs upon completion.
Beyond passenger traffic, the airport is envisioned as a major cargo and logistics centre, supporting industrial corridors, export-oriented manufacturing and multimodal transport networks. The approved corridor will extend 74.467 km from Noida International Airport to the Ganga Expressway through Bulandshahr district.

Of the total investment, approximately ₹4,479 crore will be spent on civil construction, while the remaining amount covers land acquisition, compensation and administrative expenses.
The alignment will connect or benefit important urban centres including Jewar, Greater Noida, Dadri, Khurja, Siyana, Shikarpur and Sikandrabad, significantly strengthening the transport network across Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts.
Transforming Regional Connectivity
The primary objective of the project is to provide a seamless, high-speed route between the airport and the Ganga Expressway without forcing travellers through Delhi-NCR's congested road network.
Once operational, the corridor will connect the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway, creating an integrated transport grid. Travellers from cities such as Meerut, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and several eastern Uttar Pradesh districts will enjoy significantly faster access to Jewar Airport.
Officials estimate that the travel time between Meerut and Jewar Airport could reduce to nearly 45 minutes, while passengers from other districts will also benefit from shorter, more predictable journeys.
