New Delhi witnessed another major security scare on Monday after multiple schools reported receiving bomb threat emails, raising concerns over the safety of students.
The Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka was the first to receive a threat call, prompting immediate evacuation of students and staff. Police teams, the Delhi Fire Service, and bomb disposal squads were rushed to the scene and are conducting thorough checks.
Soon after, two more institutions — Modern Convent School, Sector-4, Dwarka, and ShreeRam World School, Sector-10, Dwarka — reported similar threat emails, officials confirmed.
A worried parent shared, “We received a message from the school to take the children back. They did not tell the reason. So we have come here to take back our child.”
š« Pattern of Threats Across Cities
The latest incident follows a disturbing trend of hoax bomb threats to schools in major cities. Just last month, over 40 schools in Bengaluru received threatening emails claiming explosives had been planted in classrooms. The emails mentioned Trinitrotoluene (TNT) and contained chilling warnings, but all searches turned up empty.
Repeated Hoaxes, Real Panic
While every threat so far has proven false, the repeated incidents are causing anxiety among parents, students, and staff.
AAP leader Atishi recently slammed the Centre and BJP-led administration, saying:
“Think of the trauma that children, parents, and teachers are going through. BJP controls all four engines of governance in Delhi, yet fails to ensure safety and security for our children. Shocking!”
Current Status
Authorities have confirmed that precautionary evacuations will remain standard protocol until each threat is fully verified. Investigations are underway to trace the source of the latest email that triggered panic at DPS Dwarka and other schools.
