NSA Doval meets German counterpart in Delhi, talks held on bilateral issues

NSA Ajit Doval on Wednesday held talks with visiting German Security and Foreign Policy Adviser Jens Plotner covering the geo-political turmoil triggered by the conflict in Ukraine as well as key bilateral issues.

National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday met Jens Plotner, the Security and Foreign Policy Adviser to the German Chancellor in New Delhi, where they discussed a wide range of bilateral issues and reaffirmed the strength and resilience of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The two also agreed that the upcoming 6th Inter-Governmental Consultations would provide an opportunity for the leadership on both sides to engage and intensify the bilateral partnership.

“The NSA emphasised India’s consistent approach to the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law and our commitment to the UN Charter and the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all States. Both the sides agreed to remain engaged on issues of mutual interest,” said an official.

Jens Plotner’s visit comes at a time when several other high-level foreign dignitaries are visiting India for consultations on ongoing bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.
