Airbound Partnership Adds New Momentum to Amaravati’s Transformation
Aerospace startup Airbound has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation (APDC) to build a large-scale drone delivery network across the Amaravati Capital Region, marking another milestone in the state's technology-driven growth strategy. The partnership aims to create one of India's largest commercial drone logistics ecosystems, beginning with operations in Guntur before scaling to an ambitious 10,000 drone flights a day over the coming year. More than just a logistics initiative, the collaboration reflects Amaravati's emergence as a future-ready capital where digital innovation, infrastructure, and governance are evolving together.
Amaravati’s Modern State-Building
Following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, Amaravati was chosen as the state's capital under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Its development adopted a pioneering land-pooling model, with over 25,000 farmers contributing more than 30,000 acres. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region now spans 8,603 sq km across 58 mandals, while the 217.23 sq km core capital area, strategically located between Vijayawada and Guntur, offers strong connectivity, access to industry, and a large skilled workforce.
