India’s ascent to the world’s fourth-largest economy marks a significant milestone, but it is merely the beginning of a historic homecoming. In 1800, India was the world’s most productive engine, accounting for nearly 25% of global GDP. Colonial exploitation systematically dismantled this prosperity, leaving the nation with a mere 2% share by 1947.
Post-independence, restrictive state controls further stifled growth. However, the 1991 reforms sparked a resurgence. Today, a half-trillion-dollar IT sector and 200,000 startups have re-established India as a global player.
To reclaim the top spot, we must move beyond the metros. The mission is clear: empower one million entrepreneurs by 2030 and ten million by 2047. By transforming Tier-3 cities and rural villages into hubs of innovation, we unlock the true source of new wealth.
These entrepreneurs are modern-day freedom fighters, battling to liberate the nation from poverty. If we foster an environment where Indian enterprise can truly flourish, we won't just participate in the global economy—we will lead it once again. Our time to rewrite history has arrived
