Senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar was sworn in as Karnataka’s 25th Chief Minister on Wednesday, marking a significant political milestone in his decades-long career and bringing to an end month of speculation over the state’s leadership. In a symbolic gesture that drew widespread attention, Shivakumar held a copy of the Constitution of India while taking the oath of office, underscoring his commitment to constitutional governance and democratic values.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, was attended by senior Congress leaders, government officials and party workers, reflecting the importance of the leadership transition for both Karnataka and the Congress party.
