Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh on June 20-21, launching a series of major development projects and leading International Yoga Day celebrations.
Busy Schedule Across States:
-
Bihar: In Siwan, PM Modi will lay foundation stones and inaugurate multiple projects around noon. He will flag off the new Vaishali–Deoria railway line and launch a Vande Bharat Express connecting Patliputra to Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah, boosting connectivity in north Bihar.
In addition, an advanced locomotive built at the Marhowra plant will be dispatched to the Republic of Guinea, marking the facility’s first export under the "Make in India, Make for the World" initiative.
To strengthen the Namami Gange mission, six sewage treatment plants worth over ₹1,800 crore will be inaugurated. He will also distribute the first instalment of PM Awas Yojana (Urban) to over 53,600 beneficiaries and hand over keys to more than 6,600 newly built houses.
-
Odisha: Later in the day, the Prime Minister will reach Bhubaneswar to address a public rally at 4:15 PM, marking one year of the BJP-led state government. He will launch projects worth over ₹18,600 crore, including new rail links, 100 electric buses under CRUT, and initiatives spanning roads, bridges, irrigation, healthcare, and highway expansion.
He will also unveil the Vision Document outlining Odisha’s development roadmap for its centenary as India’s first linguistic state in 2036 and for India@100 in 2047.
-
Andhra Pradesh: On June 21, PM Modi will lead the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations from Visakhapatnam’s beachfront. He will guide a mass yoga session expected to attract nearly five lakh participants. Celebrations will be held nationwide at over 3.5 lakh sites, highlighting this year’s theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
Since 2015, when the UN declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga following India’s proposal, Modi has led commemorations from various cities, including New York, Srinagar, and Mysuru.
The visit comes amid heightened political activity, especially in Bihar, where the BJP-JD(U) alliance faces a strong opposition bloc ahead of state polls.
